Microsoft 365 AI Subscription Unveiling Propels Stock Soar $30 Monthly Impact

Microsoft 365 AI Subscription Unveiling Propels Stock Soar: Microsoft shares experienced a notable increase of up to 5.8% on Tuesday following the company’s announcement of a new artificial intelligence subscription service for Microsoft 365. Users will be charged an additional $30 per month to access generative AI capabilities within popular tools like Teams, Excel, and Word.

By subscribing to Copilot, an AI assistant that operates across various Microsoft 365 programs, enterprise customers could witness a potential 83% increase in their monthly fees. Copilot offers a range of functionalities, including email prioritization, meeting summaries, spreadsheet analysis, writing assistance, and presentation design.

This development reflects the intensifying competition among tech giants, including Microsoft, Google, IBM, and others, in providing consumer-driven generative AI tools.

Microsoft emphasized that Copilot leverages users’ business data within the Microsoft Graph, encompassing emails, calendars, chats, documents, and more. The tool adheres to preconfigured security, privacy, and compliance policies for Microsoft 365.

Currently undergoing early testing with 600 enterprise customers, such as Goodyear and General Motors, Microsoft has not disclosed a specific timeline for the public release of Copilot.

Furthermore, Microsoft unveiled a significant update to Bing Chat, its AI chatbot, introducing visual search functionality. Users can now capture or upload photos in Bing Chat and request further information via desktop or the Bing apps.
